It’s been about four years since Oliver DeMille, of Thomas Jefferson Education fame, stopped doing public speaking due to health challenges. I first heard Oliver speak in 1999 when my oldest was five. Little did I know that 12 years later almost to the day of me hearing Oliver speak that my oldest would compete for and win a scholarship to attend the college that Oliver founded. Part of the competition involved one of the learning environments of an oral exam, which was really fun for me to watch last summer.

I didn’t embrace TJEd right away, I have to admit. It wasn’t until years later that I moved away and found a thriving TJEd community in my new town that I learned more about it. I have gleaned a lot of great ideas from Oliver’s speeches over the years. I was sad when he stopped presenting. So I am super excited to hear him speak at a live webinar this Thursday August 9th!
