We read aloud this book for Morning Basket this past week and I was so delighted with it! It is such a beautiful story. In this book, Sam is a gruff unemployed husband and father who has a hard time accepting charity when someone leaves a ton of presents and food for his family on Christmas morning. What happens after that was unpredictable and surprised me. I love that it cites scripture and promotes Christ-like living. The wonderful text is by George Durrant and the lovely illustrations are by Dan Burr. I am totally adding this to my list of “must-reads” for Christmas every year.
