Electric Energy in Provo Today: the BYU vs Notre Dame 2026 Gameday, with the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ Quoted on National TV

“Today’s the day!”

That line from Finding Nemo applies to today for millions of football lovers across the world. Today is the long-awaited-for-day, at least for BYU and Notre Dame fans. It’s the game of the decade! Here we are with another match-up between these two teams. If you are in Provo UT today, you can’t help but feel the tremendous electric energy in the air. It is a party all day!

The sun is out, the leaves are turning, and the fans have been out all day, enjoying the excitement of pregame shows. You see waves of blue all over campus and the streets of Provo, with a few green shirts repping the Fighting Irish. It’s so cool that these ND fans will be treated to ice cream in the stadium today. That’s a tradition, as shown below.

Welcome to America’s most wholesome football gameday!

I’ve assembled a few more videos below to share the BYU Cougar Nation love. I just love that the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ was quoted by Pat McAffee today on ESPN’s Gameday Show, filmed from BYU’s campus amidst the Heritage Halls student housing units.

Check it out beginning at the 5:38 mark.

The scriptures quoted were:

1 Nephi 17:36

“Behold, the Lord hath created the earth that it should be inhabited; and he hath created his children that they should possess it.”

2 Nephi 32:4

“Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark.”

At that same pregame ESPN above with Pat McAffee, a BYU student won $2 for himself and $1 million for charity in a kicking contest.

Amazing!

I love this video below with Vocal Point singing to some highlight reels.

What will it take for BYU to beat Notre Dame tonight? Former BYU player Taysom Hill weighs in on the question below.

Here’s a bit about Bear Bachmeier, BYU’s quarterback. He turned Cougar Country into Bear Country!

Then here’s a video about Bear’s brother, Tiger, who also plays for BYU.

Rudy Ruettiger, who played at Notre Dame and was the focus of the movie Rudy, spoke at UVU, as shown above. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the church that owns BYU. Here is a bit of his story here and more below. Maybe he’s at the game today?

Go Cougars!
