New Christmas Movie Classic: Shoelaces for Christmas

You know the part in the song of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” that goes, “…and Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again”? I’m seeing more and more that as our society gets more and more free and frenetic with mobile devices, with kids having easier access to them, the more entitled kids get, and the harder it is to live with them at Christmastime. The above movie shows this! We watched this movie last Sunday. I loved it! I give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars (not 5 because it has the teen couple kissing, which is so not necessary). It shows the power of parent-mentoring. The basic plot line is that a dad notices his teen daughter is too selfish, close to Christmastime, so he gives her some work to do. She transforms from being a pampered brat to being kind and helpful. It’s a great story to watch as a family and talk about how we can each brighten Christmas for people less fortunate than ourselves. It’s also a great reminder to be grateful for your basic blessings. In case the above embedded video doesn’t work, you can watch it on BYUTV here.
